Describing Teachers馃

Hello everyone, I am very happy that you are still here with me learning more about how to teach in the future. 馃馃摎

So, in this week we talk about Describing Teachers馃摎

1. What is teaching?
It is ofeten helpul to use metaphors to describe a teachers say they are like actors because the feel as if they are always on the stage. Others talk of themselves as orchestral conductors because they direct conversation and set the pace and tone.

Wheter or not they are more autocratic or democratic as a teachers. They are called upon to play many differents roles in a languarge learning  classroom.

2. IN THE CLASSROOM
Students can pick up much from the way their teachers walk into the room, the way they dress, the stance they adopt and their attitude to the class  make an immediate impression on students.

■ ROLES OF THE TEACHER ■
▪︎ Controller : When teachers act as a controller they are in charge of the class and of the activity taking place and are often "leading from the front".

▪︎Promter : Sometimes when they are involved in a role - play activity for example students lose the thread of what is going on, or they are
"lost for words".

▪︎ Participant : The traditional picture of teacher during students discussion, role - plays, or group discussions - making activities, is of people who 'stand back' from the activity, letting the learners get on with it and only interview later to offer feedback or correct mistakes.

▪︎Tutor : When students are working in longer projects or preparation for a talk or a debate, they work with individuals or small group.

And the last point about weeks topic
THE TEACHER AS A LANGUAGE MODEL
Students get models of a language from a textbooks, reading materials of all sorts and from audio or video tapes.
